Good nutrition is an important part of a good healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical

Carbohydrates like bread, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes should make up a third of
your diet, but try to choose wholegrain varieties with more fibre to fill you up.
Try to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Choose fruit as snacks, and include a portion of vegetables or salad with every meal.
Choose low fat dairy products such as semi skimmed milk and choose hard cheeses with strong
flavours, so that you use less.
Eat at least two portions of fish every week, including one oily fish such as Mackerel or
Beans and pulses are a great alternative to meat as these are low in fat, but, if your not a fan try white meat instead of red.
Try poaching, steaming, grilling or baking instead of frying as you do not need extra fat
Drink plenty of fluids-It is recommended that six to eight glasses/cups a day.
Water, lower fat milks and lower sugar or sugar free drinks including tea and coffee all count. Fruit juice and smoothies contain free sugars that can damage teeth, so keep these to a small amount (150ml) per day.
