Plan your meals in advance to ensure that you are having a balanced diet.

By making simple lifestyle changes like healthy eating, being active, managing your weight and giving up smoking, we can all enjoy a balanced healthy life.

TOP TIPS.

Choose low fat dairy products such as semi skimmed milk and choose hard cheeses with strong
flavours, so that you use less.
Eat at least two portions of fish every week, including one oily fish such as Mackerel or
Salmon.
Beans and pulses are a great alternative to meat as these are low in fat, but, if your not a fan try white meat instead of red.
Try poaching, steaming, grilling or baking instead of frying as you do not need extra fat
or oil.
Drink plenty of fluids-It is recommended that six to eight glasses/cups a day.
Water, lower fat milks and lower sugar or sugar free drinks including tea and coffee all count. Fruit juice and smoothies contain free sugars that can damage teeth, so keep these to a small amount (150ml) per day.
